  • Solar Eyes Releases New Song “Let's Run Away”

  • Birmingham based pop band Solar Eyes, consisting of Glenn Smyth (vocals/guitar) and Sebastian Maynard Francis (drums), released the second single called “Let's Run Away” from their upcoming self-titled debut album on January 4, 2024.

The track was written by Glenn Smyth. Produced by Glenn Smyth and Sebastian Maynard Francis.
The accompanying animated music video was directed by Emily Doyle, who is a new bassist of the band.
The leased singer Glenn Smyth said of the song “'Let's Run Away' was one of the last songs to be written on the album, it was written in Texas last March when we were out there playing south by. You can sort of hear it as well, there's that Americana haze type sound. Spaghetti western vibe. I sort of had in my head – now this might sound a bit mad – Tracey Chapman 'Fast Car' – in essence. But with a brummie slant. A Bonnie and Clyde type thing.”
The debut album is set to be released on February 16, 2024 via Fierce Panda Records and comprises a 12-track, produced by Tom Ford, Sebastian Maynard Francis and Glenn Smyth.
  • The band shared on social media, “The track is entitled 'Let's Run Away' and was inspired by our jaunt to Texas last year. We ended up visiting a little town outside Austin called Buda, which was the scene of a bank heist in 1926 - by a girl called Rebecca Rogers- who was carrying out the robbery to pay her university bills. The track has that Ennio Morricone feel, with guitars added by our cosmic cowboy Liam Mckeown. The video lovingly created by our new bass player Emily Doyle.”
