American R&B trio The Ton3s (formerly known as The Hamiltones), consisting of Corey Williams III, James Darrell Tillman Jr. and Antonio Bowers, released a new song “Thank You” on October 28, 2022.
This time, the trio worked with American Christian hip hop singer Mr. TalkBox on the track.
The song is their first single since the 2022 album “We Are The Ton3s”.
It was written and produced by Corey Williams III, James Darrell Tillman Jr. and Antonio Bowers.
The trio recorded the song during the sessions of Snoop Dogg's 2019 album “I Wanna Thank Me”, where the trio performed “Doo Wop Thank Me” as The Hamiltones.
Corey Williams III (aka 2E) said, “We got wind that Snoop was working on a gospel record, so we thought it would be dope to try and get involved. So one late night in the studio, I started messing around with some sounds and track ideas. With the help of Lelo, we built the track, then all three of us came together to write it. After listening to it we thought it was missing something to make the west coast connection. That's where we locked in with the world famous Mr Talkbox, who really was the icing on the cake when he laid his part on the track.”- James Darrell Tillman Jr. (aka J. Vito) said, “The Ton3s all 3 individuals have deep roots in Gospel music. We all came from Gospel and the church and that's a part of us so we had to bring on home for this one.”
Antonio Bowers (aka Tony Lelo) said, “We're just grateful to still be relevant in this music industry and we realize why that's possible, so we're just saying 'Thank You' to the man up above for granting us the energy and opportunity to do what we love... We ran into [Snoop] at the Stellar [Gospel Music Awards] as we were there at the same time performing with Tori Kelly. When we caught up with him, it was all love.
