Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ The Veronicas Releases Solo Singles “Seeing Stars” & “Cruisin' On My Own”
Australian pop duo The Veronicas, consisting of Lisa Origliasso and Jessica Origliasso, released their debut solo singles “Seeing Stars (Jessie Veronica – The Solo Project)” and “Cruisin' On My Own (Lisa Veronica – The Solo Project)”.
The songs are as part of an advertising campaign by Vodka Cruiser. The campaign is aimed at “removing barriers to female and femme fun and breaking down the societal stigma associated with self-pleasure and self-love”.
Both songs were written by Jessica Origliasso, Lisa Origliasso, and Chris Collins, who also produced the tracks.
The accompanying music videos, “Seeing Stars” was directed by Courtney Brookes and “Cruisin' On My Own” was directed by Anita Lee.
Jessica Origliasso said of “Seeing Stars”, “'Seeing Stars' is all about exploring the idea of feminine power. By flipping the well-known stereotype of 'boys and their toys' on its head, “Seeing Stars” is a song that reminds us that self-pleasure is for everyone.”
Lisa Origliasso said of “Cruisin' On My Own”, “'Everything about the world we are living in today is geared towards being fast-paced and transactional. My song talks about the importance of taking the time to discover the most important relationship in your life – the one with yourself. Also, the duo has not split. They shared on social media, “We've been breaking down barriers to fun for over 21 years, and we're not stopping now. We're so excited to partner with Jessica Origliasso and Lisa Origliasso and have Chantelle Otten onboard as our expert ambassador to launch The Solo Project, so more females and femmes can get in on the fun.
The Veronica's have not broken up. We are powerful together, but we can be equally as powerful alone.”-
