Elodie Gervaise Releases New Song “IMYG” from New EP “Syzygy”
- Paris-based French/Australian singer-songwriter Elodie Gervaise returned with a new song “IMYG” alongside a music video for the first time in a year and eight months.
The song is the first single off of her upcoming second EP “Syzygy”. It was written by Elodie Gervaise and produced by Maria Korkeila.
Elodie Gervaise said of the song, “The moment of meeting someone you feel you've met before, but not in this life. Written about an intangible connection experienced the day before the first lockdown and how brief encounters can have a profound impact on the way you see the world. A story of two souls linked from a past life crossing paths again.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Lesly Lynch.
She continued, “The visuals aim to express the feeling of freedom amongst an unknown crowd and the joy associated with pure human connection. IMYG aims to free the mind from constriction and allow a space to forget and unleash human desire.”
The new EP is expected to be released this fall. It is her first project in two years.
She said of the EP, "Connection is vital. It is what creates a sense of belonging, and according to this project, what matters most in life. Our relationships are what enable us to survive and truly feel seen. That is what is expressed in the Syzygy EP."
