Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ All Time Low Releases New Song “Getaway Green”
American rock band All Time Low premiered a new song “Getaway Green” on March 17th.
The track will appear on their upcoming eighth studio album “Wake Up, Sunshine”.
Frontman Alex Gaskarth said of the song, “When we first played Getaway Green at Slam Dunk last year, we had written a bunch of ideas and maybe three or four of them felt like they could be songs for something. We had gone to Nashville at the start of the year, but we didn’t have the intention of writing an album or beginning that process. There were a few songs that came out of those sessions that felt really good, and Getaway Green was one of them.”
He continued, “And it was just a fun, spontaneous thing to play it at Slam Dunk. As we were working on the setlist we were like, ‘What if we played one of these new songs?!’ It unintentionally put some feelers out to see how people would react to a song of that vibe, structure and mood. It was reassuring, and made us think that people would be on board for what was coming next.”- ol3KWqyyr-A
The album is set to be released on April 3rd. Back in May 2019, Alex Gaskarth told Rock Sound about the album, “We’ve been working on things and ideas for a potential next album, and we don’t really know when that album is gonna be, or if the song is gonna be on that album - or really anything - we just sort of knew that we had this song, and we just thought it might be fun to just drop it the way they used to drop it back in the day. We were rehearsing for these couple of shows and we were like ‘well what if we play a new song that no one has ever heard before’, and that was the extent of the conversation.”- source : Kerrang
