American YouTuber and singer-songwriter Rebecca Black released two new songs “Self Sabotage” and “Closer” on March 12th.
Last week, she wrote on Instagram, “i can honestly say i’ve never been as thrilled as i am now for these 2 songs to come out in just a couple of weeks. they are so resonant of me and the kind of music i have always wanted to make but never knew how to actually do it, and they’re so personal to thoughts and feelings i’ve been going through over the past few years. closer and self sabotage are officially on their way, and dropping on the same day.”
Both songs follows up “Sweetheart”, which was released last October.
“Self Sabotage” was written by DCF, Nathaniel Motte and Rebecca Black. “Closer” was written by Paris Carney, Micah Jasper and Rebecca Black.
She will perform live at Bingo Loco XXL in Sydney on May 22nd along with Australian singer-songwriter Nikki Webster.
"I perform it... sometimes. It's definitely not something I do all the time," Rebecca Black said. "I was playing a university in the States a month ago and I sang a little bit of it – a new version that sounds nothing like it did – and it was one of the most fun moments of the night, both for me and for everybody else. Because it's something nostalgic and, despite everything, it's a fun song, you know?"
