Madonna Performs “Like A Prayer”, “Dark Ballet” & “Future” featuring Quavo on Eurovision Song Contest 2019
- The Queen of pop, Madonna appeared on Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv to perform “Like A Prayer”, “Dark Ballet” and “Future”.
This marks the first time she has performed at the Song Contest.
Madonna spoke to the audience ahead of her performance and alluded to the controversy surrounding her appearance. “Let’s never underestimate the power of music to bring people together,” she said.
“Like A Prayer” was released in 1989 from her fourth studio album of the same name. While, “Dark Ballet” and “Future” will appear on her upcoming fourteenth studio album "Madame X", which is set to be released on June 14th.
She performed live “Dark Ballet” for the first time and American rapper Quavo joined in “Future” on the stage.
“I’ll never stop playing music to suit someone’s political agenda nor will I stop speaking out against violations of human rights wherever in the world they may be,” she said in a statement. “My heart breaks every time I hear about the innocent lives that are lost in this region and the violence that is so often perpetuated to suit the political goals of people who benefit from this ancient conflict. I hope and pray that we will soon break free from this terrible cycle of destruction and create a new path towards peace.”
