R E L Premieres Two New Songs “Surgery” and “Nanagrams”
- Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter R E L has shared two new songs “Surgery” and “Nanagrams”.
Both songs is taken from a three-sided album “Side A” following the EP "Secrets", which was released back in April.
“Surgery” was co-written with Will Everett and produced by ADHD. The track is a poignant anthem for seeking self-love and acceptance through overcoming the distress that accompanies anxiety disorders. It reminds us of Alessia Cara's "Scars To Your Beautiful".
“Nanograms” is rhythmic dark sound like '80s pop and R&B unlike “Surgery”.
R E L said of the Side A, “Music can heal. I've chosen to make a three-sided album to address each phase of healing as its own story and as part of a bigger story. I developed an eating disorder at a very young age (7) and struggled with it for many years. Side A tells the story of the first stage of healing – facing your problem, realizing you’ve been hurting yourself. Self-compassion is the first step towards peace.”
She will perform at Resident in Los Angeles on December 10th, along with Helaine and the Hurricanes, The Living Roomers and Flames Of Durga.
