Marisa Maino Premieres New Song “Ever Young”
- Nashville-based singer-songwriter Marisa Maino's new song “Ever Young” was premiered exclusively on Direct Lyrics.
The song follows up previous song “Boy Toy”, which was released back in January and racked up over one million streams.
The track is based on rhythmic synth like EDM, featuring her solid vocals. But the song reminds us of Zara Larsson.
Marisa Maino said of the song:
“This song is about the pressures put on us during our youth. Society puts so much emphasis on our need to grow up that we forget to bask in our youthfulness. I think social media makes it hard for the younger generation to enjoy this period of our lives. We want the house and the cars right now, but we don’t want to enjoy the period before we get to that stage in our lives. I personally love being young and I love this stage of my life right now. I want to stay here as long as I can, probably a little too much. I think it’s the most creative stage I’ll ever be in. However, I still find myself putting an unreasonable amount of pressure on myself to be or act a certain way. My escape from that has always been love, whether that be the love of my friends or love in a relationship setting. So, this song is about using love to escape all the noise.”
- She debuted with her first song "Hot" last year. Her music influences from Hayley Williams, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Fergie and Katy Perry, she’s the perfect blend of all that’s good in the pop genre.
“I’m really inspired by those who do music because they love it - and not because they just want to be famous. There’s so much that we can do with music in the arts. Society is trying to grow in this but I sometimes feel like it doesn’t grow fast enough. Music has taught me about living life and that’s not what you learn In the classroom. That’s something I’d love to give back,” she said.
