Jessica Mauboy Premieres New Song “We Got Love” for Eurovision 2018
Australian R&B singer-songwriter Jessica Mauboy will represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018.
She created a new song "We Got Love" and would participate the contest with it. Australia will compete in semi-final 2 during the first half on May 10, 2018.
“We Got Love” was released on March 9th with a accompanying music video. It was written by Anthony Egizii, David Musumeci and Jessica Mauboy. Produced and co-written by DNA.
About the song, she said in a press release;
“I love the Eurovision Song Contest. I have since I was a little girl watching it with the family in Darwin,” Jessica says. “I wanted to write a song that captured that instinctive sense of joy of how a great song can change the darkest of moods into happiness. We Got Love is also about how music can lift the human spirit. You can always rise above in the hardest times with something as simple as a great song.
Eurovision, to me, is people brought together through a real love of music and all the joy that music can bring. I can’t wait to perform this song live in Portugal and see it connect with a global audience at such a special time.”-
- David Musumeci and Anthony Egizii explained;
"[This] is a song about unity and a reminder that love, acceptance and the power of inclusivity can overcome all obstacles or hardships that arise. Especially in times like these where the world can be a very confusing and lonely place, it’s important to remember when we feel disarmed of empowerment that we still hold the greatest chance for change with love." - source : SBS
