About the new song, Bishop Briggs told galoremag in an interview;
“This song scares me and I think that's what I find most liberating about it. Dream’ is about having fears and doing your best to embrace them no matter how strenuous the grip is.
Most of my music is drenched in poetry and metaphors and although this new song does have elements of that, it’s also extremely direct. It felt like an important concept to write a song about.
This song is different than anything else that I have ever released which is scary and exciting all at once, but I think it’s important to do things that scare you because then you’re always challenging yourself to speak your truth.”
- Bishop Briggs is best known for her single “River”. The song reached number 1 on Spotify's US Viral 50 and #2 on the Global Viral 50.
She debuted in 2015 as Briggs, but she changed her recording name to Bishop Briggs to avoid confusion with a heavy metal band of the same name.
In 2016, she performed as opening act on Coldplay in the fall of 2016 tour.
She released a debut self-titled EP in April 2017.
