Holly Humberstone Premieres New Song “Into Your Room” on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone premiered a new song “Into Your Room” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo on September 21, 2023.
The song is the fourth single off of her upcoming debut album “Paint My Bedroom Black”, which is set to be released on October 13, 2023.
The track was written by Holly Ffion Humberstone, Rob Milton, and Ethan Gruska. Produced by Rob Milton and Ethan Gruska.
She wrote the song in one day while experimenting with pawn shop-bought instruments and synths, and recorded it at Gruska's studio outside of Los Angeles.
Holly Humberstone talked Clara Amfo about the song, “I know I didn't really realize it until I finished the album but there are so many references to rooms I guess that I was away from home a lot and I kind of felt like I was going from hotel room to hotel room kind of random rooms, but it definitely wasn't something that I did on purpose. It just I realized that after I tried to put the album together.”
She continued, “Definitely exposing I don't know I write I write about how I feel. I guess that's how I felt on the day when I wrote it. I'd been traveling away from home for quite a long time, I think that I was missing people back at home and I felt like I was missing out on relationships and neglect to people and I guess that writing the songs are kind of my way of reaching out and clinging on to the people back home. I guess it is kind of exposing, but it's also kind of cool that I get to release such personal music too.”
The arrangement of the song is reminiscent of Michael Jackson's 1982 “Human Nature”.
