  • Lil Silva Premieres New Song “Another Sketch” on BBC Radio 1

  • British record producer Lil Silva premiered a new song “Another Sketch” along with a music video on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.

The song is the second single off of his upcoming album “Yesterday Is Heavy”, following “Backwards”.
It was written and produced by Lil Silva. The song features Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow and Brooklyn-based singer serpentwithfeet as background vocals.
Lil Silva shared on social media, “Taking centre stage as an artist is something that's taken me some time to get comfortable with. I always have and always will love collaborating with other artists; hearing them put their own spin on a song and make a set of lyrics their own. When I wrote 'Another Sketch', though, I knew I had to release it myself - it felt too distinctly me to part with it. 'Another Sketch' focuses on our actions, their consequences and changing our inevitable future... ”
  • This time, he sang as vocals on the track. Lil Silva told Clara Amfo, “Singing now so it's been a long time coming, I guess but it's happening at the perfect time. I guess, working with Sam and Jamie have been telling me all you need to start singing as I've been working, writing all the songs for everyone else, and I guess I'll probably tell them. First and they'll be out who's singing, why don't you just think this and it's just a confidence thing. You had to take a while and be okay, cool. So that's kind of the route I want to take. But I've just been putting the pieces together over 10 years and be I call this the perfect time. To be like let's like body this now.”
The accompanying video was directed by Fenn O'Meally.
Lil Silva said, “'Another Sketch' is a song about heritage, it's about a moment in time whether thats past, present or future. Despite time being able to wear down your appearance externally, what's inside of you can never depreciate. It's about family. It felt important to create a video that represented this. We wanted to make a visual that transcended generations of black Britons, and it felt right that it feature my own family. This is the most personal video I've ever made.”
The new album is set to be released on July 15, 2022.
