Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she performed “Head Above Water”.
She released the sixth studio album “Head Above Water” on February 15th, which is her first LP in six years.
The song is title tune of the album and written by Stephan Moccio, Travis Clark and Avril Lavigne.
She said of the song, “One night, I thought I was dying, and I had accepted that I was going to die. My mum laid with me in bed and held me. I felt like I was drowning. Under my breath, I prayed, ‘God, please help to keep my head above the water.’ In that moment, the songwriting of this album began, it was like I tapped into something.
