Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Lizzy McAlpine Releases New Song “I Guess”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine released the second single called “I Guess” from her upcoming third studio album “Older” on March 13, 2024.
The song follows up the album title track, which was released last month.
The track received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Jack Saunders.
It was written by Elizabeth McAlpine, Jeremy Most, and Ryan Lerman.
Produced by Lizzy McAlpine, Ryan Lerman, Mason Stoops, and Jeremy Most.
She said of the song, “Most of the time, in my revisions with the band, we were taking a lot of stuff out. It didn't feel like the original recordings had enough space, had room to breathe. This one was sort of the opposite. It had a lot we wanted to keep-strings, drums, horns. Instead, we just layered in some additional elements-guitar, piano, and bass chords-to try to make it cooler.”
She added her fans voices from her tour in Toronto last year to the track.
Lizzy McAlpine shared on social media, “I love this song so much, I hope you do too. Also special shoutout to the Toronto crowd of my last tour, I took your 'ohs' and added them to the outro :')”- The new album is set to be released on April 5, 2024. The album comprises 14-track, produced by Lizzy McAlpine, Mason Stoops, Ryan Lerman of Scary Pockets, Jeremy Most and Tony Berg.
She said of the album, “This album took me three years to get right. I only got it right because me and mason and Taylor and Libro and Sam and Ted and Richter and Nuffer and Jesse all sat in a room for 2 weeks and figured out how to get it right. Then mason and Taylor and Jesse and I sat in that room for 2 more weeks and made sure that it was right. Those few weeks were hard and fun and also the turning point for this record.” - source : BBC Radio 1
