American singer-songwriter Olivia O'Brien released a new song “blip” on April 12, 2024.
The song will appear on her upcoming EP, which is expected to be this summer.
Also, it is the first release under her own label girlhood records.
The song is Inspired by her own experiences with unrequited love and serves as a poignant exploration of the longing for connection with someone who may never even reciprocate the feeling.
It was written by Olivia O'Brien, and Day Wave who also produced the track.
Olivia O'Brien said of the song, “'blip' is a song for my fellow delusional people who fell in love with someone they never dated. This song blossomed from a love of the word 'blip' and a poem I wrote about how unrequited love is a lifelong friend of mine. I write songs about loving people who never thought twice about me... so I made another one.”- She shared on social media, “This song means so much to me, it's truly the start of a new chapter with many many more songs to come... sooner than you think! thanks for sticking with me as I continue to find my sound as an artist and most importantly as a writer.
