  • Amy Shark Announces New Album “Sunday Sadness”, Shares New Song “Loving Me Lover”

  • Australian alt-pop singer-songwriter Amy Shark has announced her third studio album “Sunday Sadness” will be released on August 16, 2024 via Sony Music Australia.

The album is her first LP in three years since the 2021 album “Cry Forever” and comprises a 11-track, produced by Kid Harpoon, Dann Hume, and Jon Hume.

Amy Shark said of the album, “I specifically wrote this album on Sundays, constantly daydreaming about the happiest moments and the worst, remembering the best people while still getting over others. I am different on Sundays, I am not sure why, but I bet you are too.”

She continued, “I think about my life so much on Sundays, my family, my friends and probably you. I'm still learning people, I'm still trying to be a better person, 'Sunday Sadness' has every emotion I feel, you'll smile in some songs and feel the love - but you'll also be sad and probably not sleep well this Sunday night.”
  • She shared on social media, “There’s a different colour grade to the world on Sunday, it feels quieter. Ever since I was a little kid, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Sundays. Nervous about school the next day, praying my Nan never dies, and I was usually getting dropped back at either my mum or dad‘s house to start the week. Only kids with divorced parents know the messy feeling of a backpack and constant odd socks. But the Sunday sadness didn’t stop when I got older... I’m still that same kid on Sunday night, overthinking and feeling everything...”

  • From the album, she unveiled the single called “Loving Me Lover” on April 26, 2024.
The track was written by Amy Billings and Thomas Hull, and produced by Kid Harpoon.
The accompanying music video was directed by Mick Soiza.

Amy Shark said of the song, “Loving Me Lover is a dreamy love song, based around happy guilt. I was in LA by myself working on music, there were things happening back home, people missing me being around and I remember feeling guilty enjoying this completely different life. Hence the line fighting forever so stop loving me lover.”
