Persian-American alt-pop singer-songwriter Chloe Star released a new song “Wasted Youth” on March 22, 2024.
The song is the second ingle of 2024, following the release of “Happy Place” back in January.
It was written by Heather Sommers and KThrash. Produced by KThrash and Eric Emery.
Lyrically, the track showcases Chloe Star at her most raw and vulnerable as she candidly opens up about the 3 months she spent at a wilderness treatment program when she was 16.
“This song is about my experience going through that program, but it's also a song that brings light to the fact that if I hadn't been sent there, I wouldn't be where I am now,” Chloe Star said of the song. “Without it, I wouldn't be able to share my story and open the door for others to share their stories.”- Chloe Star is a Persian and Indigenous singer, songwriter, visual artist, and tribal advocate. Growing up she split her time between Los Angeles and her family's reservation in San Bernardino.
With a childhood that was chaotic and often unstable, she found solace in journaling and writing poetry.
She taught herself to play piano and guitar and soon started transforming her prose into lyrics.
After spending a few years finding and cultivating her sound, Chloe Star made her official debut in 2023. - source : Apple Music
