Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ GIFT Returns With New Song “Wish Me Away”
Brooklyn-based psych-rock band GIFT is back with a new song “Wish Me Away” on April 10, 2024.
The song is their first music since the 2022 debut album “Momentary Presence”.
Also it is the first release under their new label Captured Tracks.
The band frontman TJ Freda wrote and recorded at his home in Brooklyn, New York. Produced by TJ Freda and Justin Hrabovsky.
This time, guitarist Cody Hudgins and drummer Gabe Camarano joined in recording the track.
The accompanying music video was directed by Andrew Gibson, starring William Sibley as the Butler.
TJ Freda said of the song, “'Wish Me Away' is about giving into the feeling of everything slipping away. Just take it all away, put me out of my misery, wish me away. While this all seems daunting and sad, there's a feeling of optimism in this song, holding on for dear life and refusing to give up hope.”- Photo by Dana Trippe
