Manchester-based singer-songwriter Ellysse Mason returned with a new song “Cry Baby” on April 24, 2024.
It is her first music in two years. Also, the song is the first single off of her upcoming EP “Wish The World Was Ending”, which is expected to be released later this year via Rainbow Wood Records.
She wrote the song and co-produced with Ed Graves. The accompanying music video was directed by Ellysse Mason and James Vezer.
The track is an anthem for those overcoming traumatic relationships.
Ellysse Mason said of the song, “In a way, writing “Cry Baby” was my CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). It helped me process and heal from the fallout left behind from that relationship. It also held up a mirror to me, and showed me where I've been self-destructive , why I attract those kinds of relationships and friendships, and why I couldn't work out what was going wrong.”- She shared on social media, “Hi my name is Ellysse. And you might know me from this video or this one or this one. Well I met this guy (Ed Graves). Over the past year, we've been writing and recording a whole bunch of songs. One is called 'Cry Baby' and it's the first single on my EP. The journey started with me demoling my little ideas at home to having a whole team of people believing what I do and we even went on tour. And now finally 'Cry Baby' is out in the world. I can't wait to show you guys what's next and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.”
