Back in January, American pop-R&B singer-songwriter Maya J returned with her first song “Chills” in three years.
Following the comeback song, she released a new song “Princess” on her birthday (March 15), her first ever birthday music release.
The song is seamlessly blending pop sensibilities with elements of R&B and trap.
The track features her signature strings and violin tricks woven throughout the recording, performed live by Maya J herself.
The track was written by Maya J Jenkins.
Maya J described her vision of a princess, “A graceful, poised, & classy young lady. Charitable and/or accomplished. Amiable. Defends and protects herself as well as others; her kindness shall not be taken for weakness.”- She added, “Anyone who aims at her majesty with weapons, figuratively or literally, does so at their own risk. Of course, It's all fun and games until someone gets glitter in their eye. The anthem for 'mess around and find out', fit for all of you princesses out there.”
