Canadian singer-songwriter Emmett Jerome released his debut song “Goodbye Trouble” on April 17, 2024.
The song will appear on his upcoming debut EP “Rocky Mountain Son”, which is expected to be released later this year via 604 Records.
He wrote the song during a weekend tour in Tofino for his friend, who who passed unexpectedly from a drug overdose.
He first performed the song at a festival in Comox, BC.
The track was written and produced by Emmett Jerome.
He said of the song, “I wrote this song over a year ago after hearing about the unexpected overdose of a friend in the music community. Its a constant reminder that in this business, more folks are battling personal demons than not. I hold this song real close, and I hope some of you will too.”- After performing the debut song on the tour, the strong response inspired him to continue writing about the people and places he's encountered, and the concept of the debut EP began to emerge.
Emmett Jerome said of the debut EP, “These songs come such a long way to get to this point - from its conception one sunny day in Tofino, to playing it down at the Bluebird in Nashville. I hope that you find something in this music worth holding on to.” -
