Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Maxïmo Park Premieres New Song “Favourite Songs” on BBC Radio 6
British alt-rock band Maxïmo Park, consisting of Tom English (drums), Duncan Lloyd (guitar) and Paul Smith (vocals), returned with a new song “Favourite Songs” along with a music vide on March 25, 2024.
The band premiered the song on BBC Radio 6 with Lauren Laverne.
The song is their first music in two years since the 2022 songs “Merging Into You” and “European Son”.
The track was written by Duncan Lloyd, Paul Smith, and Thomas English. Produced by Burke Reid.
The band lead singer Paul Smith said of the song, “Our aim was to create a peppy yet powerful ode to the consolation of music and companionship in the face of other people's preconceptions.”- To accompany the release of the song, the band announced the UK and EU tour dates.
The tour kicks off at The Academy Dublin in Dublin, Ireland on October 9 and will conclude at SUBSTAGE in Karlsruhe, Germany on November 14, 2024.
