Australian singer-songwriter Hayley Mary returned with a new song “One Last Drag” on April 24, 2024.
The song is her first music in three years since the 2021 EP “Fall In Love”.
She co-wrote the song with her husband Johnny Took, who is a member of Australian rock band DMA'S.
Produced by Hayley Mary, Johnny Took, and Lachlan Mitchell.
The accompanying music video was directed by Richard Clifford.
Hayley Mary said of the song, “I was sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine, bordering on chain-smoking, knowing I would regret the cigarettes in the morning, but not being able to quit. He started repeating a guitar intro he was working on for Gwen Stefani and I just started writing a poem for it in my head. I asked him if I could record it so I wouldn't forget it, and that concept vocal ended up being the last vocal you hear in the verses.”
