British-Albanian singer-songwriter Dua Lipa released the third single entitled “Illusion” from her upcoming third studio album “Radical Optimism” on April 11, 2024.
The song is accompanied by the Tanu Muiño-directed music video, which was filmed in Barcelona with high divers and synchronized swimmers.
She worked with London-based Norwegian singer-songwriter Caroline Ailin, British producer Danny L Harle, Canadian songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr., and Australian singer-songwriter Kevin Parker of Tame Impala on the track.

“'Illusion' was the first song Caroline, Danny, Tobias, Kevin and I worked on together, and it really broke the ice for the record” Dua Lipa said of the song in a press release. “It's about knowing what you're getting yourself into, but staying for the hell of it. The joke's on them, it's the fun of playing someone at their own game because ultimately you won't fall for an illusion.”- The new album is set to be released on May 3, 2024 via Warner Records.
The album comprises a 11-track, produced by Danny L Harle, and Kevin Parker. It is her first studio effort in four years, following the 2020 album “Future Nostalgia”.
Back in January, Dua Lipa told Rolling Stone about the album, “I want to capture the essence of youth and freedom and having fun and just letting things happen, whether it's good or bad. You can't change it. You just have to roll with the punches of whatever's happening in your life.” - source : Apple Music
