  • Jamie xx Premieres New Song “Baddy On The Floor” featuring Honey Dijon on BBC Radio 1

  • British DJ and indie pop band The xx's member Jamie xx premiered a new song “Baddy On The Floor” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

This time, he teamed up with American DJ Honey Dijon on the track.
The song is the follow-up to “It's So Good”, which was released back in January.
Both songs will appear on his upcoming solo album, which is set to be released later this year.
The new track was written by Balal Bashir, Honey Redmond, James Smith, Kenneth Burke, Luke Solomon, and Mikal Safiyullah. Produced by Luke Solomon, Honey Dijon, and Jamie xx.

Jamie xx told Jack Saunders about the song, “Quite a while, I guess it started in lockdown. I was making music in LA. And Honey asked me to make something for her album and it kind of spurred on our new like process of creation and this is one of the bits of music that came up.”

He continued, “I've had quite a lot of this music that putting a lot about festivals over the last couple of years. And now it's finally coming out and the first thing so I'm pretty excited.”

He added, “This track is based around a sample and I guess it's kind of my forte, I guess I'm pretty good at chopping up samples because how I started and it's just fun for me.”
  • The new album is his first body of work in nine years since the 2015 debut album “In Colour”.

Jamie xx said of the album, “I mean, I definitely do feel the pressure all the time. But I think I started to really enjoy the process of making music again after lockdown. I used to feel the pressure. Before that, like, because there was always something to do. I never had a moment to stop. think one of the reasons why this album took so long was because I started to just enjoy the process and I kind of almost didn't want to finish it because I was having so much fun.”
