Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Walker teamed up with Suicide prevention charity, CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) to release a new song “Lifeline” on March 29, 2024.
Recently, he joined in Suicide prevention charity, Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), as their latest Ambassador.
CALM is a registered charity based in England. CALM runs a free, confidential and anonymous helpline as well as a web chat service, offering help, advice and information to anyone who is struggling or in crisis.
The song is an emotional tribute to a friend he sadly lost.
The track was written by CASTLE, Connor McDonough, Riley McDonough, Ryan Daly, Toby McDonough, and Tom Walker. Produced by Connor McDonough, and Ryan Daly.
The song is the fourth single off of his upcoming sophomore album “I Am”, which is set to be released on May 31, 2024.
On the new album, Tom Walker depicts his own personal struggles and anxieties, creative challenges, sadness and moments of despair.
Also he worked with the McDonough brothers, Toby Gadd, Ryan Daly and CASTLE on the album in Los Angeles.- Tom Walker said of the song, “Last year me and my friends lost one of our own suddenly and unexpectedly. It's difficult to process grief. I felt we were all asking ourselves 'What could I have done? What could I have said? What could have been done differently?'. Sometimes people make choices that are beyond your control and it's hard to help someone who isn't reaching out. My hope is that maybe by writing a song like this that addresses the stigma behind mental health, it might persuade people to think twice and ask for a helping hand when they're really struggling. CALM is an amazing charity who helps people when things get too much. I'm keen to spread the word about their amazing work in any way that I can.”
