  • Alicia Keys Releases New Song “Kaleidoscope” featuring Maleah Joi Moon from New Broadway Musical “Hell's Kitchen”

  • Back in October 2023, the Broadway musical “Hell's Kitchen” premiered at The Public Theater.

The musical is inspired by the early life of American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys in Manhattan Plaza.
The musical was co-conceived and directed by Michael Greif with songs by Alicia Keys, book by Kristoffer Diaz.
From the musical, Alicia Keys released a new song “Kaleidoscope” on March 22, 2024.
The song features Maleah Joi Moon, who is lead role of “Hell's Kitchen”.
It was written by Alicia Keys, Ben Diehl, Breyan Isaac, and Gamal Lewis. Produced by Breyan Isaac and Alicia Keys.
Alicia Keys will first perform the song on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on on Friday (March 22).
“Hell's Kitchen” will begin performances on March 28, 2024 with an opening night set for April 20, 2024 at Broadway's Shubert Theatre.
  • Alicia Keys said of the musical, “Hell's Kitchen to me is the place where everyone who didn't belong somewhere came in the mid 90s. Hell's Kitchen was a very different place than what you would see that today was a really electric time. And that's what I wanted to call the Hell's Kitchen. It's where the fire is.”

She continued, “Manhattan Plaza is a big character in Hell's Kitchen. It's actually a real building a real place and it is one of the places I grew up and this is the vision that I've had to create a musical based on a young girl and her 17 year and her experience finding herself her independence her identity.”
  • She said, “My first recitals were here, we would come down here, this would be where everybody would gather for the recitals. I would love people to just feel the authentic energy of New York and this time, I understand that spirit, and that culture of New York.”

She added, “That is something I feel is always been really special about Hell's Kitchen and my experience growing up. I never felt like it was strange to see all kinds of different people. All that it's beautiful, just as normal. I mean it was perfect and I love that part, then you got to feel and experience. This is our story all of our story. This is pieces of experiences that I've had, but it's really our story.”
