Boston-based singer-songwriter Frances Forever returned with a new song “Baby Bangs” on March 27, 2024.
The song is their first music since the 2021 single “Certified Fool”.
As the single, the track is follow-up to the collaborative song “Play With Fire” with Tessa Violet, which was released last August.
This time, they teamed up with Texas-based singer-songwriter dacelynn on the track.
The track was written by Chloe Angelides, dacelynn, Frances Garrett, and Sam DeJong who also produced it.
Frances Forever said of the song, “I love pop music, and it was really fun to write a catchy hook that people can dance to. I’d been wanting to collaborate with dacelynn, who is also a queer artist, for years. This was a great opportunity for us to work together."
dacelynn said, “I was beyond excited to join Frances on 'Baby Bangs'. A song that felt so familiar to my own experience with queer love. I wanted to highlight how it feels to yearn for someone so deeply that you feel fated to grow closer to them. It’s always daunting to be trusted with somebody else’s song, but I loved having the chance to write and sing with my undeniably talented singer-songwriter and friend, Frances Forever.”- Frances Forever shared on social media, “Shed a few tears this morning thinking about how grateful I am that i'm able to make such cool music with such cool people and it's found its way to the ears of people who actually care!! and treasure and respect the amount of time I put into art. I wrote baby bangs in October 2022 with Sam de Jong and Chloe Angelides, and I knew it was a special project. my roommates would be going around the house singing 'cuz i'm thinkin about u all the damn time!' after just hearing it a few times. I wrote a little ear worm :) I hope u take this song and make it your own. I hope it helps you confess your feelings to your crush. I hope it makes you dance. Remember a past love. Treasure a friendship. Be grateful for the people around you.”
