Australian singer-songwriter Dean Lewis released a new song “The Last Bit Of Us” on March 28, 2024.
The song is the second single of 2024, following the release of “Memories” last month.
It was written by Alex Borel, Colin Foote, Dean Lewis, and Hayley Warner. Produced by Colin Foote, Alex Borel, and Dean Lewis.
The accompanying music video was directed by Sean Loaney.
The song describes the final goodbye and the last bit of a relationship, with years of moments and memories gone in an instant.
“I had written down the line 'the last bit of us' in my notes about 2 years ago. I was saving it for a special song, a special moment. About 6 months ago that line became this song,” Dean Lewis said of the song. “It's the final song I wrote about the girl I thought I was going to marry. In it I describe the final moment together before we said goodbye. All the hope, all the dreams, all the conversations, all the texts ending in a single moment. We both know it's over, and there is no saving us. We both understand that, it's sad, but it is what it is.
