Debbie Premieres New Song “It's Been A Week” on BBC Radio 1
London-based singer-songwriter Debbie premiered a new song “It's Been A Week” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is the second single of 2024, following the release of “Rain” back in January.
It was written by Debbie and Jordan Riley. Produced by Jay Reynolds and Jordan Riley.
Debbie said of the song, “I wrote a song about a boy and his ego. I was so fed up sometime last year. I always found myself unlucky in love and I think this session was my breaking point, 'it's been a week' was born in the cross fire.”
She continued, “I always wanted to experience romantic love growing up... I think it's cause I was quite isolated and the only example of romance I had was TV and movies. Unfortunately that led me to some dumb decisions, as I was kinda naive to the reality of finding 'true love'. Fast forward to now, like always I wrote a song about it and 'it's been a week' was born.”- Debbie told Clara Amfo about a recording episode, “Really was I was in studio. It was kind of made by mistake because I didn't want to go in. And it was the first time I met the producer at the time. I was like I don't want to go in and just offload too much baggage, you know, sweeten them up first. But it just happened and that was the vibe in bed crying a week. That's me.”
