Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ mgk & Trippie Redd Team Up for New EP “genre: sadboy”
American singer-songwriter and rapper mgk, formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly, and American rapper Trippie Redd teamed up to release their new collaborative EP “genre: sadboy” on March 29, 2024.
This marks their first collaboration in four years since the 2020 Trippie Redd's album “Pegasus”.
Back in 2021, Trippie Redd told Bleu Magazine about the EP, “Me and MGK are working on an album actually on some Ohio shit. I want to get Kid Cudi on it, too. That's my boy, I love him. We came up with a name that plays off of Ohio. And it's gon' be a mix of rock and hip-hop music. That's our album together... It would be Ohio'd out.”
The EP comprises a 10-track, and the majority of the EP was recorded at Record Plant Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California.
Produced by SlimXx, Charlie Handsome, BazeXx, Igor 'LiveTouch' Mamet. Hunter Roberts, Bloom, Hoskins, 80 Root, Ronny J, Cxdy, Fizzle, and RRAREBEAR.- For mgk, the EP is his first rap project in five years since the 2019 album “Hotel Diablo”.
mgk and Trippie Redd will perform at two free concerts in support of the EP, scheduled for April 2 at Irving Plaza in New York City, and April 4, 2024 at the Bluestone in Columbus, Ohio. - source : Apple Music
