Canadian singer-songwriter Kellie Loder will released their new album “Transitions” on April 19, 2024.
It is their first album in four years since the 2018 album “Benefit of the Doubt”.
From the album, Kellie Loder released a new song “The Month of May” on March 15, 2024.
The song follows up “When We Kiss”, which was released back in January.
Kellie Loder wrote the song and co-produced with producer Cory Tetford.
Kellie Loder said of the song, “I got my heart broken in the month of May. It was the end of a relationship and it set me up for a pretty rough summer of pretending to be happy when I was grieving. I wrote the first verse in 2020, fresh out of the breakup, and in 2022 on one of the last days in the studio while recording the album, I decided to finish writing the song. I felt really strongly that it had to be on this record. The day after I finished writing it, we recorded it and now it's track #1 on the upcoming record.”- They continued, “Songs need room to breathe - and this was a perfect example of that. It took me over two years to finish it: the first part being written when I was hurting, and the rest of it being written when I was healed.”
They added, “These recent songs all encapsulate something that looks like different types of transitions. Transitions in life and relationships can be beautiful, hard, but necessary.” -
Kellie Loder embarks on the Transitions tour in support of the album.
The tour kicks off at Arts and Culture Centre in St. John’s, NL on April 4 and will conclude at Union Street in Berwick, NS on May 12, 2024.
