Toronto-based singer-songwriter Diana Planche, aka Set Feux released the third single called “Young and Lonely” from her upcoming self-titled debut album on April 5, 2024.
The song is accompanied by the Barzin-directed music video.
In the track, she watches her mother-in-law slowly losing her memory due to Alzheimer's disease and delves into the question of our identity, asking, “Are we still the same person without our memories?”.
The track was written by Barzin Hosseini-Rad, Diana Alexandra Planche, and Kevin Norman Kralik.
Set Feux said of the song, “I wrote 'Young and Lonely' during the first pandemic lockdown. My mother in law, who has Alzeimer's, had come to live with us and her memory loss was progressing quite rapidly. It was really difficult witnessing her memory decline and I began thinking about the impact memory has on our identity. The song explores the self that is left when our memory fades and poses the question, are we still the same person without our memories?”- The debut album “Set Feux” is set to be released on April 19, 2024.
The album took over 5 years to complete, recorded in Toronto and Hamilton. The songs explore love, passion, loneliness and the overwhelming desire to unravel the mystery of one's self. - source : Apple Music
