Norwegian singer-songwriter girl in red released the third single “You Need Me Now?” from her sophomore album “I'M DOING IT AGAIN BABY!” on March 22, 2024, following “Too Much” and “DOING IT AGAIN BABY”.
This time, she teamed up with American singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter on the track.
This marks the first collaboration between girl in red and Sabrina Carpenter.
But, as commonality, both artists opened for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour last year.
The track was written by Marie Ulven, Matias Tellez, and Sabrina Carpenter. Produced by girl in red and Matias Tellez.
Marie Ulven, girl in red's real name, told Dork for this month's cover feature about the song.
“Originally, I had a line about wanting Ariana Grande to feature, but she didn't want to, so I was having to do it myself.”- She continued, “That didn't seem cool enough, though. I love 'Feather', I love 'Nonsense', and I think 'Emails I Can't Send' is such a sick album. I knew she could bring something to the song that I couldn't.”
She added, “I found that so funny. It's just got this wonderful 'fuck you' energy.”
The new album comprises a 10-track, featuring a guest appearance from Sabrina Carpenter, produced by girl in red and Matias Tellez.
