American singer-songwriter Lucky Daye released the first single of 2024 called “HERicane” along with a live performance video on April 19, 2024.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The track was written by David 'Lucky Daye' Brown, Dernst Emile II, Dustin 'Dab' Bowie, Frank Nitty, and Mike 'Hunnid' McGregor. Produced by Dernst 'D'Mile' Emile II.
“This song is about being grounded in a chaotic relationship,” Lucky Daye said of the song. “It's important for people to be reminded that it's a good time to be yourself and shine. Just be grounded and fierce in who you are.”- Lucky Daye is currently working on his upcoming third studio album.
He talked about the album in a interview with 105.3 R&B that the new project will be R&B album.
He said, “The first album was for me to be I guess just R&B or whatever and the second album was keeping busy during pandemic. The third album was fitting in to the box, because I felt like since I needed to be R&B let me just be R&B. First time, I didn't think like that I was doing it for myself but this time I did the R&B for everybody I mean that time I did the R&B for everybody else. And in this album is like now I want to write for everybody and do what I think is R&B versus what everybody else think is R&B, because R&B has evolved everything, evolved R&B's evolved through all types of lives and it's like right now it's in this little like one dimensional phase. And we could do that all day like that's great like, I feel like it's great, it's fun, it's all of that. But at the end of the day like R&B is everything, is it's so much more and I wanted to like highlight the fact that R&B is not only what it is now, but what it was yesterday the day before that the day before that and day before that all the way until the point of infantry.” -
