American indie rock band EELS premiered a new song “GOLDY” on BBC 6 Music with Huw Stephens.
The song is the second single off of their upcoming fifteenth studio album “EELS TIME!”, which is set to be released on June 7, 2024.
Imagining his dear dog Bundy as a goldfish, the band frontman E, aka Mark Oliver Everett, sings the song.
He said, “Sometimes the answers to all of your problems are right there in the fishbowl on your table.”
The track was written by Mark Oliver Everett and American actor and The All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter.
In the past, Mark Oliver Everett and Tyson Ritter collaborated the soundtrack for the 2022 film “Prisoner's Daughter”, where Tyson Ritter played as Tyler and Mark Oliver Everett appeared on as a cameo.
Also, both had previously shared a record label DreamWorks.
This time, Mark Oliver Everett co-wrote six songs with Tyson Ritter on the album.- Mark Oliver Everett said of the working with Tyson Ritter, “He's turned out to be one of my favourite, weird, eccentric and imaginative collaborators. And he was right there down the hall from me at the DreamWorks Records office all those years ago. Who knew?”
The new album is their first LP in two years since the 2022 album “Extreme Witchcraft” and comprises a 12-track. -
