Irish singer-songwriter Rea Garvey teamed up with Irish pop rock band Picture This to release a new song “Somewhere Close To Heaven” on March 15, 2024.
This marks the first collaboration between Rea Garvey and Picture This.
The song will appear on Rea Garvey's upcoming sixth studio album “HALO”, which is set to be released on September 13, 2024.
The track was written by Dag Lundberg, Jimmy Rainsford, Nicolas Rebscher, Rea Garvey, and Ryan Hennessy.
Produced by Rea Garvey, Dag Lundberg, and Jimmy Rainsford.
Rea Garvey said of the collaboration with Picture This, “I've watched Picture This from the wings since Day #1! After they joined me on tour in Germany, I was even more a fan than before and wanted to get us into studio and make music.”
He said of the song, “The track is a diary entry of every Irish person abroad. We love to sing, dance and celebrate life and in doing so we are home again if only in our hearts and minds.”- He continued, “'Somewhere Close To Heaven' couldn't have been written by one of us, it's a combination of both music worlds giving that supernova effect.”
He added, I have to love what I do, it's the last freedom of a musician and we didn't leave the studio until what we wrote and recorded blew our minds. I want to say we walked out but in truth we crawled out, Joyous!” -
He said of Picture This lead singer Ryan Hennessy, “He is one of the best text writers I've heard in a long time with a wealth of melody which often blinds me.”
