  • Cassyette Releases New Song “When She Told Me”

  • British rock singer-songwriter Cassyette released a new song “When She Told Me” on March 21, 2024.

The song is taken from her upcoming debut album “This World Fucking Sucks”, which is set to be released on August 23, 2024 via 23 Recordings.
The song follows up the double singles “Why Am I Like This?” and “Ipecac”, which were released back in January.
The track was inspired by her late father, who passed away in 2021
It was written by Olivia Sabastianelli, Cassyette, Olly Burden, and Tylr Rydr. Produced by Olly Burden and Tylr Rydr.

Cassyette said of the song, “When She Told Me is about the moment my mum told me we lost my dad. It was the worst moment of my life. My vision literally flipped upside down. I didn't find out until recently that this is a stress response where your body is about to shut down. It felt unexplainable and this song is as close as I got. If you know this feeling this is for you"
  • The new album comprises a 16-track, produced by Olly Burden and Tylr Rydr.
Cassyette said of the album, “I'm so excited for the release of my first album. I've put in so much work and I've collaborated with so many amazing and talented people and I'm so grateful to see it brought to life. Since my Dad's passing, I've tried my best to not surrender to the darkness that comes with grief. It's from that darkness that 'This World Fucking Sucks' was born, and I really hope to do him proud, and that anyone that's going through the same thing takes comfort in listening to it. We're in this together.”
  • After the release of the song, she appeared on BBC Radio 1 Piano Session to perform the new song and a cover of American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey's “Say Yes To Heaven”.
Cassyette embarks on her headline tour in the UK and Europe. The tour kicks off at The Globe in Cardiff, UK on April 1 and will conclude at Melkweg Up in Amsterdam, NL on May 1, 2024.
