Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Regent Releases New Song “Beggars Belief”
Southampton-based rock band Regent, consisting of Ben Rooke (vocals), Chris Woolf (guitar/keys/piano), Ed Cesar (rhythm guitar), Luke Trundell (bass) and George Grattan (drums), released a new song “Beggars Belief” on April 5, 2024.
The song is the fourth single off and the title track of their upcoming sophomore album “Beggars Belief”, which is set to be released on April 26, 2024.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio Solent.
Sick to the back teeth of a UK Government veering from scandal to scandal and a practice of corruption and subversion becoming commonplace across the globe, “Beggars Belief” is a straight-up declaration that enough is enough.
The band frontman Ben Rooke said of the song, “This track is a complete dig at the establishment and everything we believe or are told to believe… From the pandemic to wars, the cost of living crisis, to the mockery of the government, and how we the people have been treated these past few years. Corruption runs deep worldwide, not just in this country… I wanted to write a track that sums these times up.”- The new album is their first LP in two years since the 2022 debut “Just A Revolution”, and comprises a 12-track, including preceding singles “Flying High”, “Liberation” and “Oh No, I Know”.
The band said of the album, “If you had told me 5 years ago we would release an album I'd never of believed you... So to be releasing our second on Friday 26th April I am absolutely blown away by the grit and determination from all the lads in the band...we've been absolutely relentless... Tracks from the album so far been played all over the world on Radio, TV in The Premier League the EFL and all over the place... And to think we are planning to release our 3rd album this year trust me it takes some balls and some doing.” -
