Cornwall-based singer-songwriter Rosalie James returned with a new song “Girl I Was” on March 20, 2024.
The song is her first music in a year since the 2023 single “Will We Ever Rest?”.
Also the track is the first single off of her upcoming sophomore album “Full of Chemicals”.
The track is a storytelling narrative of a series of destructive relationships from the artist's past. The raw and honest song chronicles when someone gives one owns power away and the self growth that needs to occur to move on.
It was written by Rosalie Jenifer James and produced by Daniel Knowles.
The accompanying music video was directed by Yashi Richens-Erturan and Loveday Richens-Erturan.- The new album is an autobiographical diary of the artist's own struggles with neurodiversity, toxic relationships, addiction and mental health.
A lot of the album was produced and recorded in Los Angeles.
The album is expected to be released in June 2024.
