Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Jacob Collier Covers Björk's “Hyperballad” on Mahogany Session
British singer-songwriter Jacob Collier appeared on Mahogany Session to perform a cover of Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk's “Hyperballad”.
Last September, he performed Little Blue and Summer Rain featuring Madison Cunningham and Chris Thile on Mahogany Session.
On the same day, he recorded “Hyperballad” at the Heritage & Arts Centre in East London.
The original version of the song was released by Björk as the fourth single from her second solo album “Post” in 1996.
The song reached No. 8 on the UK Singles chart.
Jacob Collier said, “My rendition of one of Earth's deepest songs, Bjork's 'Hyperballad', recorded with Mahogany the same day as Little Blue and Summer Rain, is yours for the listening!!”- Mahogany said, “We spent a day in September with Jacob at the Heritage & Arts Centre in East London to celebrate the upcoming release of Djesse Vol. 4. At the end of an incredible day, we had time for a single take before we wrapped – and Jacob delivered this completely improvised rendition of the Björk classic, Hyperballad. We managed to capture three incredible moments; Little Blue (where Jacob was joined by an audience choir of fans), Summer Rain featuring Madison Cunningham and Chris Thile, and this stunning Björk cover.”
