Mike Evin Releases New Song “The Ham in You”
Toronto-based singer-songwriter Mike Evin released a new song “The Ham in You” on April 3, 2024.
The song builds on the vulnerable end-of-relationship theme introduced with his previous single, “I Almost Called You Babe”, which was released back in February for the first time in five years.
Written just two days after “I Almost Called You Babe”, the track is a bittersweet ode to wishing your ex-partner well, all the while trying to appreciate what was had and mourn what was lost.
The track was written by Mike Evin, and produced by Chris Stringer.
The accompanying music video was directed by Blake Hannahson.
Mike Evin said of the song, “I was thinking about some of the things I would miss most about the relationship, and I recalled that we used to call each other ‘hams’ when we were acting goofy and theatrical. Then the title came, and the emotional songwriting ride began.”- Photo by Dustin Rabin
