Australian singer-songwriter Tones And I released a cover of Australian rock band Men at Work's “Down Under” on April 5, 2024.
Th song is the follow-up to “I Get High”, which was released last month.
The original version of the song was released by Men at Work as the B-side to their first local single “Keypunch Operator” in 1980.
After the band signed to Columbia Records, another version was released as the second single from their debut album “Business as Usual” in 1981.
The early version has a slightly different tempo and arrangement from the later Columbia release.
The song reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK singles chart.
The track was written by Colin Hay and Ron Strykert. The cover version was produced by Toni Watson and Randy Belculfine.
