London-based DJ Nia Archives premiered a new song “Unfinished Business” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is the third single off of her upcoming debut album “Silence Is Loud”, which is set to be released on April 12, 2024.
It was written and produced by Nia Archives and Ethan P. Flynn.
Nia Archives told Clara Amfo about the inspiration for the song, “It is actually really funny. I was in Dublin. I was just going out there for and got a taxi. And I was talking about this like situation ship. And the taxi driver this older Dubliner, he was like, 'listen, look....' I can't do the accent. I'm not gonna put to the Irish accent but he was like, 'what's meant for you, won't pass you by?' And it's just really stuck with me. And I was like, that's actually right. Like if it's meant for you. You're not going to miss out on that. So, that's kind of where I got that from.”
She added, “I wrote in my notes and then when I wrote the song, I was like, let's throw that one.”- The debut album comprises a 13-track, featuring vocals by Nia Archives herself, over the sounds of her signature jungle style.
Nia Archives explained about the meaning of the album title, “I mean, I feel like for me, silence can be so many different things. And it can be like powerful. You can be powerful in your silence and holding your tongue. It's powerful but it could also be weakness for some people. It can be a weak moment, can be a strong moment. And for that contradiction was like, quite nice.” -
