American DJ Diplo dropped a new music video for “Wish”, directed by Matt Keane. The video features American rapper Trippie Redd.
The song appears on his seventh EP "California", which was released March 23, 2018. It was written by Diplo and Trippie Redd.
This song was first premiered on Trippie Redd’s Instagram on October 18th, 2017 with the caption “Make a wish/The world is yours [Produced by: @diplo]”.
In addition to Trippie Redd, the EP "California" features guest appearances from Lil Yachty, Santigold, Desiigner, DRAM, MØ and GoldLink.
Diplo said of the song;
"I met trippie at a party in la. he was like me kinda chilling on the side and I was really interested in making a song.. we traded a few calls and linked up in the studio one day and made wish.."- He wrote about the EP on Facebook;
"when I made the Florida album over ten years ago it was me dwelling in my own mind and creating something crazy that was about where i'm from and what I imagined. once I got to California I had been working for years in all kinds of music but this last year I was inspired by all the young sounds and rappers that have moved to LA.. felt like this album was the soundtrack to the last year of working here.." - source : The Fader
