British singer-songwriters Sasha Keable and Jorja Smith teamed up to release a new song “Killing Me” along with a music video.
The song features R&B sound with soft melody and acoustic guitar.
It was written by Benjamin Totten, Jorja Smith and Sasha Keable. Produced by Benjamin Totten and James Smith.
The video was directed by Olivia Rose.
The track will appearn on Sasha Keable's upcoming EP “Intermission”, which is expected to be relesed later this year.
Sasha Keable shared on social media, “We wrote this 2 years ago, I was coming off the back of a bad breakup and me and J linked up with our brother Benjamin Totten for a writing day, little did we know this masterpiece would come from it. This song has healed me in more ways than you could ever know and now we're hoping that it can heal a few of you too. I have to say a massive thank you to Jorja, Ben and of course my baby James Smith for making this beautiful piece of art with me.”
She continued, “Also thank you to our angel Olivia Rose who brought the video to life and helped us tell our story so perfectly. I hope this song can do for you what it has done for me and Jorja, show us that loving yourself is the most important thing you can do in life. I hope you love it as much as we do ❤️”- Sasha Keable told FADER about the video, “Jorja and I really wanted this video to be reflective of a real traditional duet, and Olivia did just that. We actually used Beyoncé and Shakira 'Beautiful Liar' as a reference; we wanted the styling to be same same but different, respecting both our individual styles but allowing fleeting moments of not knowing who was who. Olivia also wanted to make sure we showed the true emotions of the song but through the female gaze to perfectly match a song all about us as women realising our worth.”
