Canadian singer-songwriter Ben Heffernan announced his third EP “drive in movies” would be released on August 27, 2021. It is his first EP in four years.
From the EP, he unveiled the lead single called “movie nights” on July 16th. It is '80s pop sound vibe.
Ben Heffernan said of the song, “Set on a park bench at night, highlighting the kind of spaces that can feel like a world of their own when you are a teenager, 'movie nights' is a song about your first brush with getting older.”
He continued, “Movies suggest that many of a teenager's 'firsts' happen in well-lit, aesthetically pleasing spaces, when in reality, many of them happen in the most mundane, unassuming places.”
He explained of the EP, “drive in movies is a personal, cinematic collection of songs that chronicles key events in the life of a teenager: falling in love for the first time, losing someone for the first time, frustration with the world around you, and the speed in which one's young life tends to change.”- source : SoundCloud
