The new album comprises of 13-track, including remix of original songs and two new track “Presence” and “Tomorrow”.
From the album, she unveiled a new remix of “Stay High” on July 20th.
She teamed up with American actor and singer-songwriter Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino on the track.
Brittany Howard shared on social media, “Thank you Childish Gambino for reimagining 'Stay High'. I hope the message of this song will inspire people to stay positive and not give up hope during these crazy times.”
The track was written by Brittany Howard. Produced by Childish Gambino and James Francies.
She told Apple Music about the song, “I went to Topanga, California, to write after my road trip—to be inspired, I guess. It wasn't working. I was miserable. It was so beautiful, all gardens and mountains, but I was just sitting there like, “Fuck, I hate this.” I was there with my partner, who's a writer and working on a book, and every night we'd get together and be like, “So, how'd you'd do?” One day I finally showed up with something, but I wasn't proud of it. I was like, “I think this is a step in the wrong direction, but here goes.” When I hit play, she just looked at me and said, “Actually, I think this is going to be the hit.”
She said of the album, “I'm proud to announce 'Jaime Reimagined', a compilation of artists reimagining the songs of my debut album, 'Jaime'. Making 'Jaime' was really fun for me because I was able to explore so many different genres of music. There were no rules. This reimagination project has been no different. I have been honored to have so many incredible artists from all musical worlds interpret my songs in such interesting and different ways.”
