Indian-Canadian rapper Hitesh Sharma, aka Tesher and American singer-songwriter Jason Derulo have shared a new music video for “Jalebi Baby”.
The song is a remix of Tesher's “Jalebi Baby” and was released back in May. It was written by Jason Derulo and Tesher.
The single has amassed over 200 million global streams.
“Honestly, I love the fact that I'm in this part of my career, a music video with Jason Derulo, Top 40 records. But I'm here in Regina in my basement and my mom, like, gives me breakfast before She leaves for work,” Hitesh Sharma said. “When I had that first breakthrough record, I was at home with my whole family, and they were supporting me through it.”
When Jason Derulo heard the song, he contacted Hitesh Sharma to create the remix. Then both artists created the song remotely between Regina and Los Angeles due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I think he keeps his attention on the streets and sees what's hot internationally and jalebi baby was hitting number one in many countries on Shazam,” Hitesh Sharma said.- The video was directed by Gil Green, who shot it in Los Angeles.
“It had to happen, because I don't even know if I would have achieved the vision I had in my mind if I didn't have Jason Derulo,” he said. “Because with her, there's dancing and lights on the set. It's so beautiful and complicated.”
